The QCIT User’s Guide offers detailed descriptions of each item in the QCIT. The QCIT instrument and a sample rating form are included in the User’s Guide.
The Quality Care for Infants and Toddler (QCIT) is a reliable and valid observational tool to measure the quality of interactions between infants and toddlers (birth to 36 months) and their caregivers in early childhood settings. The QCIT was developed for use in center-based classrooms and family childcare homes (FCCs). The QCIT measures how caregivers support the social-emotional, language and literacy, and cognitive development of infants and toddlers. It also captures any areas of concern in how caregivers are supporting the emotional and physical health and safety of the children.
The QCIT User’s Guide offers detailed descriptions of each item in the QCIT and recommended procedures to observe caregiver-child interactions when using the QCIT for a variety of purposes. The QCIT instrument and a sample rating form are included in the User’s Guide, as well as supplemental information such as Frequently Asked Questions and definitions of key terms. The QCIT User’s Guide, including the QCIT instrument, is purchased as a limited license to download and use the electronic file. You may view the QCIT User Guide electronically or print your own copy (restrictions apply).
Customers will have access to the QCIT User’s Guide in the Paradiso Learning Management (LMS) site for 3 months after their purchase to download and save the electronic file. Sale of the downloadable QCIT User’s Guide is final. This purchase is not eligible for return, exchange, or refund.
