June 20-21 and 24-25, 2024 Live Virtual QCIT Observer Certification Training

June 20-21 and 24-25, 2024 10am-7pm ET

At a QCIT observer certification training, trainees learn about the QCIT instrument including the items in each QCIT scale. After the trainer-led component of training, trainees complete a video-based certification exam.

Description

This QCIT observer certification training is four full days of online trainer-led training with additional online activities before and after the trainer-led component. This includes independent pre-training work followed by four days of trainer-led learning about the QCIT items in each scale, practicing by coding videos, and discussing scores with trainers and other trainees. Trainees will need access to an internet connected device with reliable internet access.

After the trainer-led component of training, trainees have up to three opportunities to pass a video-based certification exam. Trainees should reserve four hours in the two weeks after training to take their first exam. Those who pass the certification component will be certified in the QCIT for one year. In addition to four days of instructor-led training, trainees receive access to training course materials, including the QCIT User’s Guide, which has the QCIT instrument and a sample rating form.

Currently, the QCIT materials and training are only available in English. However, an observer can use the QCIT in multilingual settings if the observer is fluent in English and the language(s) of the classroom or family child care. Trainees should reflect on if they will feel comfortable participating in a training course in which the materials are written in English and the discussion and instruction take place in English.
